Bernard Pierce Breakout Year

Last season Bernard Pierce played a key role as the backup running back for the Baltimore Ravens during their Super Bowl victory running for 532 yards on 108 carries.  As a result of losing star wide receiver Anquan Boldin the Ravens must rely more on their running game this upcoming season in order to help highly paid quarterback Joe Flacco succeed.  In order to prepare to take on a larger role in the Ravens running game sophomore running back Bernard Pierce hit the weight room hard this off season and put on 10 pounds of muscle without losing any speed or elusiveness.  The running back now weighs 228lbs and should expect to see a minimum of 150 carries.
